Summary of Features in the 1-D Fit

Toolbar Control
|
The
1-D Fit Toolbar opens in the target
Plot Window and exposes the fitting commands together
near the focal point of your work.
|
Fit Orders
|
Polynomials of 1 to 10 coefficients may be fit,
with some orders excluded or set to specific values
|
Forcing Coefficient Values
|
Coefficients of selected order can be forced to
specific values or excluded from the fit by setting them to 0.0.

1-D Fit Properties dialog. Also see

|
Point Weighting
|
Click on a point to change its weight in the fit
computation.
|
Point Deletion
|
Click on a point to delete it from the fit.
|
Iterative Sigma Clipping
|
If enabled, points are removed from the fit when
they are further than a specified number of sigma's from the mean
fit. See the
Sigma Clipping page of the
1-D Fit Properties dialog.
|
Selectable Series Fitting
|
Plot windows may contain multiple data series, but
you can fit any or all of the series by selecting the series that
are visible using the
Plot Series Properties dialog. Only series
visible in Overplot mode are fit. See
Using Series Selection for the 1-D Fit.

Data Windowing
|
Permits points inside rectangular data windows to
be used in the fit. See
Using 1-D Point Selection Regions.
|
Adjustable Drawing Properties
|
Change colors, shape, etc. for deleted, weighted,
and rejected points using the Drawing page of the
1-D Fit Properties dialog.
|
Logging of Results
|
In verbose mode, results are tabulated in the
Main Message Pane where they may be edited, printed,
or saved.
