1-D Fit Package
The 1-D Fit Package is a powerful regression analysis tool provided with Mira. This package contains a rich assortment of tools for sophisticated, yet easy to do fitting of data displayed in a Mira Plot Window. The user interface to Mira's powerful curve fitting capability. This tool performs interactive regression analysis of plotted 1-dimensional data. The toolbar opens from any Plot Window to work with any or all of its displayed data.
1-D Fit Package Feature Summary
Toolbar Control |
The 1-D Fit Toolbar opens in the target Plot Window and exposes almost all 1-d fitting commands together near the focal point of your work. |
Fit Orders |
Polynomials of 1 to 10 coefficients may be fit, with some orders excluded or set to specific values |
Coefficient Forcing |
Coefficients of selected order can be forced to specific values or excluded from the fit by setting them to 0.0. See the Set Coefs preferences page. Example. |
Point Weighting |
Click on a point to change its weight in the fit computation. |
Point Deletion |
Click on a point to delete it from the fit. Example. |
Iterative Sigma Clipping |
If enabled, points are removed from the fit when they are further than a specified number of sigma's from the mean fit. See the Sigma Clipping preferences page and the Example. |
Selectable Series Fitting |
Plot windows may contain multiple data series, but you can fit any or all of the series by selecting the series that are visible using the Plot Series Attributes window. Only series visible in overplot mode are fit. Example. |
Data Windowing |
Permits points inside rectangular data windows to be used in the fit. See Example. |
Adjustable Drawing Preferences |
Change colors, shape, etc. for deleted, weighted, and rejected points using the Drawing preferences page. |
Logging of Results |
In verbose mode, results are tabulated in the 1-D Fit Messages window where they may be edited, printed, or saved. |
