Using Point Deletion (1-D Fit Package)


Mira provides a number of ways to select the points you wish to fit—or not fit. Manually performed point deletion allows you to remove targeted points from being fit. The pictures below describe this simple process.


Original data fit by a "flexible" fit of 5 terms (orders 0 through 4). Sigma clipping is not enabled, so the peak pulls the fit upward, which also causes overshoot at other locations.


Delete mode was enabled by clicking , then the points shown in red were deleted. The was clicked to re-do the fit. Now the fit is pulled less toward the tall spike.


This shows how to restore the deleted points. Click the menu button and select Reset > Deleted Points from the menu. After this command, the data will appear as in the original figure at the top of the page.
