Copy Commands
The Copy command works like the traditional Windows Copy command by copying data from a window to the Clipboard. Data on the clipboard may be pasted into other other Mira windows or into other Applications using the familiar Edit > Paste command.
The type of data copied to the Windows Clipboard varies by window type:
Image Window |
The Copy command (Ctrl+C) copies the current image from the target window to the clipboard. You can paste the image from the clipboard to a different Image window using the Paste command (Ctrl+V). The Copy Window (Ctrl+W) command copies the screen representation of the displayed image. All overlay markers and labels are also copied. The Copy Bitmap command copies the image but no overlay graphics. The Copy Markers command (Ctrl+Shift+C) copies markers such as photometry apertures, registration points, or line profile segments to the clipboard. These may be pasted into a different image window to duplicate the markers. Duplicate and Duplicate Image Set create new copies of images in a new Image Window. |
Plot Window |
The Copy command (Ctrl+C) copies all plot series from the target window to the clipboard. You can paste the plot series from the clipboard to a different Plot window using the Paste command (Ctrl+V). The Copy Window command copies the plot to the clipboard as a 24-bit RGB bitmap. |
Editor Window |
The Copy command (Ctrl+C) copies all of the window's text or the highlighted text to the clipboard in Rich Text (.rtf) format. |
Report Window |
The Copy command (Ctrl+C) copies all cells or the selected cells to the clipboard as tab-separated ASCII text. This can be readily pasted into other software Applications such as Microsoft Excel or text processing software. |
Grid Controls |
Copy commands are located in the pop-up Grid Context Menu opened by right-clicking on the grid. |
Various Dialogs |
Many dialogs contain a copy button, including Plot Series, FITS Header, and Edit Pixel Values. These buttons copy the window data to the clipboard as ASCII text. The text can be pasted into other windows or Applications using the familiar Edit > Copy protocol. |
