Unsharp Mask

The Unsharp Mask sharpens the image by removing blurred features of the image. The degree of enhancement ranges from 0% (no sharpening) to 100% (maximum sharpening) as controlled by two properties: The Sigma property determines the size of blurred details to remove. The Blending property determines the proportion of de-blurred image mixed with the original image. In general, the stronger the enhancement, the greater the increase in sharpness but also the greater the appearance of ringing artifacts surrounding sharp features. This filter is slower than the High Pass Filter but generally gives superior results by adding less noise to the final image.
