Shape Properties


The Shape Properties page of the Marker Properties dialog selects the shape and size of the selected shape. This page is part of the Marker Properties dialog which is used by a few specific drawing commands, including Plot Point Measurements. The measurement package that opens the page determines which controls are available.

Marker Shape Properties

Shape

Selects the marker style from the options below. The width and height are set by the Marker Size parameter. The central hole is set by the Hole Size parameter.

Crosshair: this is a typical crosshair with a "hole" in the middle.

Large Crosshair: This is a crosshair with double the Marker Size and Hole Size without changing these properties.

Double Crosshair: This crosshair has two pairs of lines in each direction and a central hole.

X Crosshair: This crosshair is tilted 45 degrees and has a central hole.

Circle: This is a standard circle.

Square: This is a standard square.

Diamond: This is a standard diamond.

Marker Size

This is the maximum dimension of the marker in units of screen pixels.

Hole Size

This is the dimension of the marker's central hole in units of screen pixels. This control is grayed out wen the marker has no central hole.

Example

The screenshot below shows a Plot Window with all available markers drawn with the Marker Size and Hole Size set as shown in the Shape Properties dialog above. Note that the marker shape, size, and hole size take effect immediately and are used for the next marker drawn.
