Image Rotation Examples


The pictures below show the result of setting the Edge Replacement options in the Rotate Image command. The top section shows the result for an intensity (data) image and the second section shows the result for an RGB color image. The Angle was set to 30 degrees and Resize was unchecked.

Intensity Image

Original image (16-bit unsigned pixel type).

Rotated 30 degrees with Method set to Image Margin. This makes the edge pixels blend with typical pixel values around the image margin.

Rotated 30 degrees with Method set to Value with the Edge Value set to 10000.

RGB Color Image

Original RGB Image opened from a JPG file.

RGB Image rotated 30 degrees with Method set to Value and Edge Value set to 255,128,0.

RGB Image rotated 30 degrees with Method set to Value and Edge Value set to 128.
