File Lists

A Mira File List is a protocol Mira uses to reference many files by storing their names in one file as a single point of access. You can create file lists containing all the files you want to work with and then open it later to re-visit the same files. The images in a File List can be opened into individual Mira windows or as an Image Set using a check-box option at the bottom of the Open dialog.

The Mira File List is a registered file type with its own Windows shell icon. This provides the functionality of double-click on a File List in Windows Explorer to open all its image in Mira, and to access file lists from the recently used files under the Files menu inside Mira.

If you want to change the file list at some point, you can do that too. For example, you might want to display the images, apply some processing operations to them later, and be able to bring up the same set of images a month from now. Using a File List, you just need to know the file name of the File List. That means that it is also often useful to give a File List a sensible name so you will know in the future, exactly what it contains. Mira File Lists use the file name extension .axf.
