New Features in this Version
Mira Pro UE Version 7.98 is a special edition, intermediate between the last release of version 7 and the initial release of version 8. Several important features have been taken from version 8 development and included in this release.
The File Event Scripting command watches a folder for file events (saving, renaming, or deleting) and triggers script execution on an event. For example, when an image is saved to a file by camera control software, Mira can immediately calibrate, process. or measure it using, basically, anything that can be implemented in a Mira script.
The Combine Files command combines FITS format files stored in files rather than displayed in a window. One application is avoiding memory limitations when combining a large number of large images.
The Create Synthetic Image command creates realistic images containing noise and, optionally, stars. This is useful for testing algorithms, evaluating noise effects, or for other purposes.
The Kwee - van Woerden Solver calculates time of minimum brightness from paired (time, magnitude) data using the well-established Kwee - van Woerden algorithm. This technique is used in the study of variable stars, minor planets, and other variable objects.
Web editions of the Mira User's Guide and Pro Script User's Guide have been revised. The Web versions can be viewed anywhere you can access the Internet, even from a computer where Mira has not been installed. Links are also available from inside Mira, on the Help > About Mira dialog.
Several Image Window components have been enhanced. See the following topics: Image Window, Image Cursor, Image Toolbar, Animation Toolbar.
The Normalize Image command ajusts the brightness of images using region statistics to match the statistics of a target image or a target value.
A Tutorials topic gathers together a list of all tutorials in this document.
