Open the Star Removal Preferences dialog
by clicking 
on
the Star Removal Toolbar.
Page Descriptions
The Points Page has options that control how points are marked.
The Sample Data Page shows measured values for all marked templates and target objects.
The Other Preferences opens for the background fitting and aperture drawing colors. Changing any of these values causes the templates and targets to be re-evaluated for the image or the image set.
