Line Measurements

Procedure

1.   Adjust the image to the desired magnification, image position, palette, and other attributes.

2.   Open the Line Measurement Toolbar. [more] Marking mode is automatically enabled when the toolbar is opened. If marking mode has been disabled by prior commands, activate it by clicking the button.

3.   Move the mouse to the starting point. Then press and hold down the left mouse button. [more] If Centroid First Point is enabled in the Marking Preferences dialog, the position will lock onto the local centroid near where the mouse is released.

4.   With the left button down, drag the mouse pointer to the endpoint and release the button. The line measurement is reported in the Lines Report window. [more] If Centroid Last Point is enabled in the Marking Preferences dialog, the position will lock onto the local centroid near where the mouse is released.

5.   To measure other lines, repeat steps 3 though 4.

6.   When finished you can disable marking mode by clicking the button.
